The nine artists in PAINT HEADS share a fascination with the properties of paint. They approach each painting with an open mind and a willingness to engage in a dialogue with the work as it evolves, confronting how best to exploit the medium on a two dimensional surface. History of art and its movements inform their visual vocabulary; they are not battling, but building on the lessons of the past, and clearly having fun doing it.
Long commitment to the investigation of paint is amply rewarded in the exhibited works.
The Jeffrey Leder Gallery continues our exhibit season with this invigorating show. The exhibit will occupy 2 floors of the gallery. We are located in LIC, New York City: 8 minutes from Manhattan, around the corner from MoMA PS1 Museum, 2 blocks from the Sculpture Center and 6 Blocks from the Noguchi Museum.
