This event has ended.

Luxuria Barbarica is an installation of 250 5-color screenprints on paper. This work is the product of the artist’s interest in creating extravagantly ornate environments using the low-tech process and materials of screenprinting. Screenprinting is treated as a precise way of painting, placing color next to color to create images with the illusion of three dimensional form and metallic shine. The artist uses the prints as building material to stage environments which play with the conventions of decorative pattern.

Traci Horgen currently lives and works in Ridgewood, NY. In addition to screenprinting, she also creates works in painting, drawing and sculpture. She has exhibited in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Italy. Traci holds an M.F.A in Studio Art from UC Davis, a B.F.A. from University of Hartford, Hartford Art School and with additional study at the New York Studio School. She has participated in residencies at the Kala Art Institute and the International School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture.
