The Windows Program is a hallmark public art initiative of chashama, enlivening vacant storefronts with multi-disciplinary performances and visual installations. There is no limit to what you can do in a window: Butoh dance, paint portraits, display visual art, modern dance, puppetry, the list is infinite! The program creates an ideal situation for artists to further develop new and old work in a flexible environment. Performances and installations may be interactive, allowing audience members to creatively contribute to the work made and form a relationship with chashama artists. Through presenting work in unexpected public places, the Windows Program helps build a broader audience for contemporary art and performance.

This window space is located on a highly visible Garment District block, and it is fully equipped with theatrical sound and lighting.
