William Wadsworth Findlay began The Findlay Galleries in 1870 in Kansas City, Missouri.

At the turn of the century, 2nd generation Findlays took a chance with two young artists -- Charles Russell and Frederic Remington, now both considered as the best of the New West throughout the art world.

Between 1935 and the early 1960's, the business, operated by 3rd generation Findlays, expanded to Chicago, New York, and Paris.

Peter joined his father in 1959, and opened his own business in l972. Today, he works with his son, Joshua, from a gallery in the Fuller Building at 57th Street and Madison in New York devoted to masterworks of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as contemporary artists.

Since the gallery's move to it's present location on the 8th floor of the Fuller Building on 57th street, we have begun to represent contemporary artists as well as well known master painters and sculptors of the 19th, 20th and now 21st centuries.
