Davis & Langdale Company was established in 1952 by Roy Davis, who remains a principal today, more than 50 years later. It functioned as Davis Galleries from 1952 until 1973; as Davis & Long Company (with Meredith Long) from 1973 until 1980; and as Davis & Langdale Company from 1980.

Areas of particular specialization include Bloomsbury and modern British art; and the artists Gwen John; Maurice Prendergast; Charles Prendergast, Wilson Bentley, and Charles Jones.
