Kent Fine Art was founded in 1985 by Douglas Walla. Its first location was on the corner of Madison Avenue and 57th Street, in the historic Fuller Building. Along with representing contemporary artists such as Dennis Adams, Llyn Foulkes, Paul Laffoley, Antoni Muntadas, Irving Petlin, and Dorothea Tanning, the original Kent Fine Art presented a number of outstanding historical shows, including exhibitions of the work of Medardo Rosso, Francis Picabia, and John Heartfield. In total, Kent would publish over forty scholarly books and organize over two hundred exhibitions worldwide.

Today, Kent Fine Art LLC is located in the heart of the Chelsea gallery district. The gallery is devoted to the careers of a select group of internationally known contemporary artists, organizing six exhibitions a year and publishing extensively in print as well as online. tinues its publishing program with a series of pocket size hard bound publications with approximately one to two new titles per year.
