Back Yard Projects

Add this to my venues

Back Yard Projects is a seasonal and collectively organized project space occupying a one-bedroom apartment and garden in Alphabet City. We offer artists the possibility to work site-specifically, develop new contexts for existing works, and engage with nature as a studio or platform for creation and collaboration. Though Back Yard Projects is occupied as a living space and therefore private, we wish to open our doors weekly to the community for screenings, performance and music programs, and workshops. Through the artists’ engagement with the space and the community’s access to it, we hope to illuminate the rhythms of our everyday spaces and actions.
