James Cohan presents an exhibition of new work by Federico Herrero.

Federico Herrero uses an expansive and deeply personal concept of landscape to create a language of form and color grounded in the poetics of place. In his latest paintings, Herrero turns his gaze inwards to map a topography of memory that expresses his own intimate relationship with the world around him, harnessing the emotional weight of color to express evolving psychological states. These works also reflect the tensions and connections between voracious urban growth and nature’s resistance, while pushing further into Herrero’s ongoing investigations of the limits of color and its form.
