Planthouse presents Paintings 2020 and Spells: Monoprints, an exhibition of recent work by the artist Chuck Webster. In March of 2020, Webster’s show of collages opened and abruptly closed at the gallery. This summer’s offering returns to Webster and showcases new work all made in the last twelve months. It features five paintings, all made in lockdown, and Spells, a monoprint series, produced in collaboration with Jungle Press just as New York City reopened from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chuck Webster is a recipient of the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and was a 2018 National Academy Affiliated Fellow at the American Academy in Rome. His work is included in numerous private and public collections, including those of the Baltimore Museum of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
