Ed. Varie is pleased to present solo exhibition, Wineberry over Gold, with artist Chris Lloyd.

Wineberry over Gold is an open visual discussion focusing on the daily struggle of being African American. The pieces physically represent the duality of the black identity by layering mixed medium drawings and photos with perforated images. Using contrasting symbols in combination with personal motifs, the beauty and trauma of being African American is conveyed is brought into question.

Chris Lloyd (1994) is an African American artist from Albuquerque, NM, currently based in Brooklyn, NY.
