What is holding our civilization together today? Is there some unifying force, some adhesive, or is it merely a vast collection of fragments, on the verge of coalescing or else flying apart in all directions?
The artists in this exhibition address these questions in a multitude of ways, starting with fragments from their own environments, but choosing what they depict to allude to the world that is too large and diverse for anyone to comprehend.
These works do not depict a settled, stable world; instead they reach for something far more authentic, the world of multiple realities that all of us must find our way through.
