David Hinchliffe, born in Brisbane, Australia, considers New York City his second home after living here in the 1970’s. He became involved with painting while pursuing a lifelong career in Australian politics. David has been painting for over forty years and has been involved in more than seventy exhibitions throughout the world. David´s style has been described as “contemporary impressionism” - a light and subtle palette favoring an atmospheric interpretation of his subjects and their surroundings.

After coming off of a very successful showing at the Asia Contemporary Art Show in Hong Kong, Hinchliffe will be having a solo show at the Michael Ingbar Gallery opening March 30th. The main focus of the show reflects the timeless changes of the seasons throughout New York City and its many public parks. These scenes are affectionately painted with the intimate knowledge of a New York City resident, yet simultaneously infused with the exhilaration of a visitor’s viewpoint.
