Fountain House Gallery, representing artists living with mental illness, presents a group show The Written Word. The exhibition is curated by Joyce Siegel.
The Written Word showcases artworks inspired by literary classics by authors including Emily Brontë, Ernest Hemingway, George Orwell, Ayn Rand, and Arthur Rimbaud. The more than 50 pieces in the exhibition have been made on wooden blocks of uniform size, displayed like book covers on the gallery’s walls. Among the mediums represented are collage, mixed media, acrylic and watercolor painting, and digital photography.
