This event has ended.

Go Figure is a painting exhibition and visual dance exploring the variations and possibilities of the human figure through the eyes of one artist. Techniques, materials, styles, subject matter vary in each painting. Some are expressionistic figures made with paint on canvas, others are constructions and some are made with found objects on wood.

Bauer Neustadter’s work has been featured at the Montclair, Hunterdon. Jersey City, and Newark Museums, Belskie Museum of Arts and Science, Bergen Museum of Art and Science, George Segal Gallery at Montclair State University, Piermont Fine Arts Gallery, Prince Street Gallery, NAWA Gallery and Venezuelan Consulate in New York City, Morris Museum, Riverside Gallery, Recologie and Media Loft in New Rochelle, NY in addition to many other galleries in the NY Metropolitan area.

Bauer Neustadter studied with Nicki Orbach, Michael Dillon and Miriam Beerman. She majored in dance at Bennington College and worked and studied with Merce Cunningham, Alvin Ailey, and Martha Graham.

“The sense of dynamic movement in Neustadter’s artworks may come from her background in dance. She has also done choreography and her larger woven pieces have served as props or settings for performance pieces.”
