Calico presents Damion Silver’s first solo exhibition in NYC.

Damion Silver was born and raised in central Connecticut and now lives in Northern Massachusetts. Predominantly self-taught, he has developed his skills from trades such as animation inker, cabinetmaking, and foundry work. His latest body of work evolves his collage and assemblage techniques from paper to wood and metal. Utilizing found, made, and sometimes liberated materials, Silver draws influence from the decaying urban landscape and a lifetime of skateboarding on the East Coast.

Configurations will feature Silver’s most recent 3D and 2D work, each piece finding its own balance. Raw materials mingle with finished surfaces. Precise geometry links with organic form. Silver finds harmony with these new works, each piece highlighting the artist’s own skill and patience.
