poster for “Three breaths Exhibition” Exhibition

This event has ended.

Breathing - we take breath unconsciously, with every breath to live, and to confirm the individual presence. The exhibition is titled “Three breaths”.
Three Japanese women present the paintings:

- Masako Sawada, in the motif of plant;
- Keiko Hara, focusing on person, and
- Yoko Saotome, in a geometric and abstract way.

It is much appreciated if you could feel their respective “breaths”.

Masako Sawada
The theme is invisible but existing power. In other words, it is breath, light or air.
I would like to present such things through the aspect of plant. Silently repeated breaths of the plants.
Continuous breathing of life through time.
I continue to paint and to learn from small and powerful life of plants.

Keiko Hara
A brief moment of fantasy in usual day. I feel beauty when I sense the breathing which hides a sweet, a little painful, tiny spine. I am walking in pace with those around me on the wide street. In the back of my mind, I however feel a desire to leave this street and walk along a path to a place with fabulously sweet and delightful scent.

Yoko Saotome
Breathing is silent but continuously moving without a stop. My daily behavior and paintings are also moving like breathing. Where to go, for what purpose? I have no idea whether or not I know it. It is delightful and exciting because of uncertainties. “Let’s move for the time being” is my theme.
