This event has ended.
Van Der Plas Gallery presents a solo exhibition of artist Paul Campbell, showcasing his latest work.
Campbell’s approach to painting often uses non-conventional tools. He experiments with children’s toys, gizmos and gadgets to execute his compositions. Campbell’s work employs marks created with dollar-store koosh balls, the resulting abstractions resemble a weightless gesture, spontaneous or planned. One might think of floating dandelions seemingly dancing in the wind.
His paintings point to a jubilant and spacious celebration of life, filled with festivity, fireworks and fun. Lyrical expressions, at times veer into surrealist modalities while retaining the essence of the unconscious laid bare.
The viewer is embraced by an aesthetic playfulness of color and form.
This exhibition is made possible by the collaboration of Van Der Plas Gallery and L & B Interlude Art Agency.
