Knockdown Center
This event has ended.
A new exhibition by French photographer Sabine Meier, Portrait of a Man (Rodion Romanovitch Raskolnikov) is a five year project that constitutes a mental portrait of the protagonist of Dostoyevsky’s novel Crime and Punishment. A labyrinth installation with projection and 37 direct-to-surface photographic prints seeks to capture the complex workings of his tormented mind. Meier worked between Le Havre, France and New York, finding her characters on the streets, and shooting at locations including Knockdown Center, where the project got its start in 2011.
