Ashok Jain Gallery
This event has ended.
Ashok Jain Gallery presents a rich collection of Japanese artworks this summer.
Yuuki Kobayashi mixes traditional and contemporary style of art by incorporating calligraphy as motifs in his works. Kobayashi expresses his wish for world peace by drawing an origami crane, known as the symbol of peace in Japan. He made cups and saucers using the origami crane design and crowdfunded to gift these works to the world leaders at Ise Shima Summit in Japan. This project attracted people’s attention and his cups and saucers were successfully used to serve the world leaders. His passionate wish for peace and the use of traditional Japanese art make his works unique.
The group exhibition, “New Arts Prospect from Japan III 2016”, is in its third year presenting emerging and well-known artists from Japan. Ashok Jain Gallery has been holding this exhibition series with the purpose of introducing Japanese artists to New York City art scene.
