Anna Zorina Gallery presents artists Nadine Faraj, Bradley Hart, Kaletski and Leah Yerpe in the group exhibition Winter Tales.

NADINE FARAJ deftly harnesses the volatility of the watercolor medium. She mediates restraint over the pigment’s boundaries through various techniques. The interaction of diluted colors results in a dynamic feeling of movement from a seemingly hallucinatory perspective. Hyperbolic attributes lend a sense of eroticism while the self-conscious or contemplative facial reactions express a profound awareness and sincerity. The distortions that affect these figures remark on the fluidity of identity within specific boundaries of societal contexts.

BRADLEY HART transforms bubble wrap into pixelated photorealistic paintings. The common material typically used to protect artworks now takes the forefront and is endowed with vibrant life. Hart, a Toronto native, is based in New York City and has exhibited his works in museums including the Mesa Art Center in Arizona and the Children’s Museum of Art in New York. He has shown in galleries and fairs throughout the United States and Canada. His work is featured in private collections in New York, Florida, Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles, London, Germany, and Italy.

KALETSKI, originally from Soviet Russia, moved to New York City 40 years ago and started painting the local personalities of his new home on unusual supports such as cardboard boxes and burlap. His works are represented in international public and private collections including the Claryville Art Center in New York, the Caldic Collection in the Netherlands, the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Collection in California, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Minsk.

LEAH YERPE, a New York native, compounds drawings of the human figure into twisting, floating and falling poses within a blank, undefined context. Through matching this ambiguous setting with her fastidious drawing style, the artist transforms elements of human experience into a narrative akin to one of mythology and religion.
