Ceres Gallery presents New York Revealed, Stirring the Melting Pot, an exhibition of
mixed-media paintings by Marian Osher.

“It is the blending of cultures that gives New York its character. In these troubling times of controversy about immigration, it is especially important to remember that our families were once immigrants too.” Osher says, as she stirs the melting pot with this exhibition of colorful paintings that share her explorations of Manhattan.

Just about everything about New York fascinates Osher—diverse cultures, ethnic foods, a treasure trove of little known landmarks, neighborhoods, parks, industry, city walls, even the trash (and there is a lot of it). Osher is a Maryland artist and frequent traveler to New York who loves exploring the city.

What makes New York such an extraordinary city is that it continues to draw people from all over the world. Cultural diversity makes this city vibrant, flavorful and exciting. And remember that it was a cafe in New York that was the first to serve cappuccino in America!

Marian Osher is a painter, printmaker, mixed-media artist and private art instructor. New York Revealed is her 22nd solo show, and her fifth solo show in New York. Her artwork has been shown in numerous group exhibitions in the U.S., as well as international shows in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, India, Italy, Moscow, and Shanghai. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Museum of Modern Art (Buenos Aires, Argentina), and the American Cultural Center (New Delhi, India).
