Van Der Plas Gallery presents its second annual juried group exhibition, ANTHOLOGY 2016, The gallery is honored to have three distinguished Jurors; Leonardo Barreto, Peter Brill, Vincent Sambrano, as well as gallery owner, Adriaan van der Plas, who reviewed 255 entries from four countries to select eleven outstanding artists to join the gallery’s ranks.
The artists span a dramatic spectrum, from somber and sensual intaglio prints to exuberantly colorful figurative multimedia abstractions. In between there are experiments in new technologies as well as innovative reinterpretations of traditional mediums. While ANTHOLOGY 2016 casts a wide stylistic and thematic net, the diverse work is unified by a vital and genuine sensibility. “Each of these artists displays powerfully unique ways of looking at the world and translating their revelations onto paper, canvas, plexiglass, wood, and other materials that elucidate their view of reality,“ said gallery owner, Adriaan Van der Plas.
