This event has ended.

Amos Eno Gallery presents Blood Moon, an exhibition of new paintings and drawings by Nancy Elsamanoudi.

Nancy Elsamanoudi works with an abstract visual vocabulary that incorporates cryptic doodling, enigmatic drawing, geometric shapes, curvilinear lines, biomorphic and suggestively figurative forms. She typically does not begin with a predetermined vision of the final painting. Rather, the images emerge out of the painting process. In this process, some elements become diminished as they are obscured, concealed, and veiled while other elements are accentuated as they are unearthed, exposed and unveiled. The roughened surfaces of her paintings are richly layered with paint. This accumulation of mark making is integral to the work.

Nancy Elsamanoudi received an MFA degree in Painting/Drawing from Pratt Institute in 2014. The artist lives and works in New York City. This will be her first solo show in NYC.
