This event has ended.

Revolutionary America is a dynamic sensory, photography, video and educational exhibit.

Starting with an Opening Celebration on Flag Day, Sunday June 14, 2015, from 2pm - 4pm guests will be greeted by Continental Soldiers and Camp Followers, given a tour of the exhibit, as well as a chance to sample period recipes. The viewer has a multi-sensory adventure awaiting them throughout the two floors of the gallery.

The inspiration for “Revolutionary America” is a collective of several years of historical inquiry and inspiration from genealogical research, volunteering with lineage organizations, and teaching New Yorkers and visitors about history as a volunteer museum docent. Its curator, Lindsey Mullholand, is a New York City based volunteer, historian and designer.

Teaming with energy, the photos are bright and colorful, capturing happiness and joy in everyday moments of people exploring history. She loves capturing moments with the public, and especially students.

Excited that her Opening Celebration is on Flag Day, she shares a memory that has led her to create this exhibit. “Our task was to walk the Flag Day parade route, passing out American flags. From children to adults, the joy on peoples’ faces was overwhelming. I knew that my past momentum with research and volunteering had to take on a new direction, to share this feeling with as many people as possible. I want to recreate these powerful moments with history in interactive ways, beyond your usual textbook. You should leave my exhibit inspired. My job is to share a smile and hand you an American flag, actually or figuratively”.

Not just a typical photography exhibit, components of the exhibit makes it appropriate for all ages, and sharing your experience and connecting through social media is encouraged.

The collection of spirited, energetic photographs are offered to the public at an affordable price.
