This event has ended.

Frederieke Taylor Gallery and Franco Mondini-Ruiz invite you to “New York and New Yorkers” a 30 day salon of on the spot and commissioned jewel-like portraits. The show will feature fun, affordable paintings on paper, and grand Romantic takes on New York City.

Fancy a glass of Prosecco, Chinatown morsels, music, beauty, and mirth? Come by to enjoy the show, be the first in line to have your portrait done, or make an appointment for later. Opening just in time for Mother’s day, you can also bring in a picture of a loved one and have it transformed into a painted portrait. Franco Mondini-Ruiz’s charming portraits come in various sizes and are very affordable, starting at $500 for a painting. All portraits receive clever and witty titles. While painting, Mondini-Ruiz will entertain you with stories about his Tex-Mex background, the San Antonio social scene, the 2000 Whitney Biennial, where he showed inside as well as out front, selling his wares for a hundred dollars on down, and his stay in Rome in 2004 where he was awarded the Rome Prize.

The exhibition is a month long performance, with Franco Mondini-Ruiz as the main entertainer.
