“Raw Pop” Exhibition
Castle Fitzjohns Gallery
This event has ended.
In today’s art world, many works of “Pop” art are labeled as“Neo Pop” or “Post Pop” - think bright colors that are visual derivatives of Warhol, Lichtenstein and Indiana. Castle Fitzjohns Gallery in Manhattan’s Lower East Side will feature four artists in its “Raw Pop.”. The works of Guy Stanley Philoche, Sam Tufnell, Bradley Hart and Whisbe strip down the Pop genre to its roots whileincorporating popular culture within their art from a strong conceptual position. Each artist brings his own unique interpretation to the genre, with strong undertones about the diverse issues plaguing our culture today.
