The Michael Ingbar Gallery presents summer show: Nostalgia NYC.

This show is an ode to New York City, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the signing of the NY Landmarks law, highlighting the architecture that fuses the city’s past to its present and future. As one of two galleries left in the illustrious Prince Building in Soho, which housed over 43 galleries back in the 1980’s, we are pleased to exhibit the transformation of New York via various artistic viewpoints and mediums, including works on canvas, paper, and photography

This is a toast to the New Yorker, whose grit and hustle is reflected in the very infrastructure and foundations of the city. The legacy of New York City architecture creates a framework through which time and experience flow. Each demolition, each renovation, a reminder that change is the only constant and in order to survive, you must know how to adapt… and who knows how to adapt better than a New Yorker? The old adage holds true, “if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.” Even with an ever-changing face, there are always neighborhoods and landmarks that emanate nostalgic reminders that there’s no city quite like this one. This is the city that never sleeps, the lights reflecting the glimmers of hope in each person’s eye, from the native New Yorker, to the naïve transplant, to the vagrant on the corner hustling for change

Nostalgia, NYC is a representation of New York City, as it was, as it is, and as it always will be. Featured artists include David Hinchliffe, Richard Haas, Assunta Sera, Alan Petrulis, James Sundquist, Derek Reist, Daniel Hauben, Jefferson Hayman, Pavel Ouporov, Roxie Munro, Lawrence Kelsey, & many more.
