This event has ended.

The Noguchi Museum will present a new exhibition of work by 30 graduate interior design students from Pratt Institute, a renowned New York City-based college that educates creative thinkers from around the world. Pratt students were challenged to draw inspiration for their work from the museum, which was designed and created by renowned Japanese-American sculptor and artist Isamu Noguchi.

The students researched Noguchi’s history, studied select objects from the museum’s collection, and applied their knowledge to design a hypothetical annex for the museum in the Brooklyn neighborhood of DUMBO. Part of the project called for students to design a temporary exhibition for the space, using the subjects of their research. On display will be design proposals, drawings, and student analyses of Noguchi objects.

The project is part of the “Interior Design Graduate Level Qualifying Design Studio” course taught by Visiting Assistant Professors Wendy Cronk and Rachely Rotem and Visiting Associate Professor Tetsu Ohara.
