This event has ended.

This momentous exhibition will feature two galleries of Daniel Hauben’s largest works, several of which have never before been exhibited. These include the most recent “Urban Idyll”, a 6-panel, 20-foot panorama which includes a self portrait, interior view, still life, and the sprawling urban landscape. Also included will be the 5-panel, 17-foot “Bronx Vortex”, and the 9-foot high “The Fifth Crusade.” The exhibition includes representative work spanning three decades of the artist’s career.
Daniel Hauben has focused his art primarily on capturing the everyday life in The Bronx. He has had over 30 national and international solo exhibitions, including The Bronx Museum of the Arts and the American Embassy in Berlin. He is an eight-time recipient of the BRIO Award from the Bronx Council on the Arts, was the 2012 recipient of the Edgar Alan Poe Award for Artistic Excellence from The Bronx County Historical Society, and has been awarded artistic residencies in Spain, Germany, Costa Rica, Virginia, Connecticut and California.
He has taught at the Art Students League, the CUNY Graduate Center, and currently teaches at the CCNY Spitzer School of Architecture and the Riverdale YM/YWHA. His public art projects include “The EL” for the New York MTA’s Arts for Transit Program, and a “A Sense of Place,” a twenty-two painting commission for the new library (designed by Robert A.M. Stern architects), on the campus of Bronx Community College.
