“Outdoor Sulpture: Gnomes and a Rosebush” Exhibition
FiveMyles
This event has ended.
Tufnell’s friendly, 32” tall gnomes are cast in pigmented resin. They will interact with the passing public in this Crown Heights neighborhood, delighting young and old alike.
A steel rose bush joins the city tree in front of the gallery to add a poetic touch to this urban neighborhood. With his steel work Sam Tufnell has posed himself the challenge of making steel appear fragile without sacrificing structural integrity. The rosebush, with its buds, open blossoms and countless leaves, offers a perfect and beautiful example of the artist’s successful challenge.
Sam Tufnell graduated from SVA in 2002. He has shown his work in exhibitions throughout New York City. He lives in Upstate New York and works in Brooklyn.
