Ed. Varie presents For Here or To Stay, a two person exhibition with works by Jonathan Mildenberg and Marco Scozzaro.

Jonathan Mildenberg and Marco Scozzaro present separate bodies of work that explore the human paradigm as perceived through a collective consciousness. Both works reflect the imprints we leave behind in our surroundings and with others whether it be intentional or not.

With found objects as raw materials, Mildenberg’s installation, Kyvugoeline Roaehrgimpmli, explores the deconstruction and reconstruction of identity as we try to harness others perceptions of ourselves. As the installation and objects are compiled, they becomes a narrative of their own separate of the individual, bringing together the discarded remnants that we leave in our wake from a fractured identity. Jonathan Mildenberg is a Brooklyn based artist currently pursuing an MFA in Sculpture from Yale University (2015). He has received a BFA from Massachusetts College of Arts and has been exhibited in San Francisco, Boston and New York.

Scozzaro’s photographs are selections from his ongoing body of work titled Maggio, translating in Italian to the month of May. His work brings an intentional and calculated sensitivity to the people and environments he photographs while capturing the understated complexity of the relationship between the two. Marco Scozzaro, born and raised in Italy, currently lives in New York. He was a recipient of a presidential scholarship, Photo Global Residency Program, at the School of Visual Arts, and holds an MA in Psychology from the University of Parma. His work has been exhibited in France, Italy, Netherlands, Macedonia and the United States.
