A sequence is an ordered list of objects. Seriality, the quality of succession in a series, a social construct taking form in labels, either imposed or voluntarily adopted.

Sequence and Seriality is an exhibition of drawings, prints, and artist books centered around the notion of sequencing and grouping. Curator and exhibiting artist, Bartek Walicki, has selected artists whose images can be arranged into linear and non linear narratives depending on their placement. Each artist identifies with concepts of pattern and succession in their work.

Holly Veselka is a Brooklyn based multi media artist. She studied painting at Boston University graduating in 2009 with a Master of Fine Arts degree. She is a manager for Paper Monument, a journal of contemporary art.

Lindsay McCulloch’s work includes paintings, prints, installations, drawings, and artist books. She exhibits internationally and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Virginia. She received her MFA in painting from Boston University.

Alfredo Gisholt attended Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City, received his BFA from Florida International University and his MFA from Boston University. He was awarded a Guggenheim fellowship in 2002 and a Dedalus Foundation fellowship in 2000. Gisholt has taught at Boston University and since 2004 serves as Assistant Professor of printmaking and drawing at Brandeis University.

Joshua Goode received his BFA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and his MFA from Boston University. His work is shown internationally and he is a recipient of the Dozier Award from the Dallas Museum of Art. Joshua is currently the Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas.

Bartek Walicki was born in Warsaw, Poland, and is currently based in Brooklyn. Bartek received his BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2002 and his MFA from Boston University in 2005. He has exhibited his prints, paintings, books and multimedia installations throughout the United States and abroad. Bartek has taught at Mercy College, University of Massachusetts, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
