This event has ended.

Gerald Peters Gallery, New York, is pleased to announce Will Clift: Forms in Balance, a selection of about thirty new sculptures in wood, steel, and carbon fiber composite. This will be Will Clift’s first one -‐‑ man exhibition in a New York gallery and it coincides with his first major monumental art commission; six eleven -‐‑ foot long suspended sculptures in a new, high -‐‑ end office building, to be dedicated later this year. Clift is from an artistic family and has been constructing sculptural forms since he was very young, but his formal education was in engineering, psychology and systems thinking, earning both a BS and MS from Stanford University. Clift’s training in engineering combined with his aptitude for working with a range of materials, and an aest hetic pedigree have resulted in the production of a group of sculptures that are mysteriously balanced, elegant in form, and sophisticated in their use of new materials and finishes. Will Clift’s works appear to be fragile, cantilevered structures, which seem to push the limits of stability. But like dancers en pointe, their balance is based on strength, precision, and control.
