Shields explores female sexuality in her large charcoal drawings. She is exhibiting her ‘Masturbation Series’ for the first time at Ceres Gallery. Frank depiction of a woman as a sexual being, rather than as a sexual object, is still taboo. Shields breaks down this taboo by presenting women’s sexuality as a beautiful thing in her monumental, weighty figures.
Original Performance Piece created by Reading Theater Project - a series of short, personal pieces in response to Shields’ drawings.
