This event has ended.

“The Nude As Muse” show is the brainchild of Emily Stedman, who originated the Life Drawing sessions at the gallery.

“The show began as a combination of my name and my current artist focus on the nude. It’s also to provide an uncensored and free exhibition space for any artist or student interested in showing their work to the public who has attended the life drawing sessions,” Stedman said. “Life Drawing has been a popular activity at Noho-M55 for the past couple of years.”

A contemplative and insightful video, created specifically for The Nude As Muse by filmmaker Mark Khaimov, will be projected in the gallery. The video ruminates on the question as to why artists have been compelled to draw the unclothed human body for thousands of years. It spotlights the participants in the NOHO/M55 Gallery Life Drawing Group under the aegis of interviews and demonstrations.
