“Barely There” Exhibition
Jack Geary Contemporary
This event has ended.
JACK GEARY presents a group show, guest curated by Vadis Turner. The show includes recent work from Ivin Ballen, Suzette Bross, Jonas Everets, David Goodman, Midori Harima, Megan Petras, Lina Puerta, Todd Shalom (Elastic City), and a collaboration of Vadis Turner and Saya Woolfalk.
Barely There invites the contemplation of liminal spaces, transitions and the tension between the ephemeral and the permanent. The show spans works of video, photography, painting, performance and sculpture and represents recent work selected and curated by Vadis Turner. The show explores undefined edges and attempts to track and measure the intangible. It offers a complex and elusive series of juxtapositions that provoke the viewer to contemplate the nature of chronology and materiality.
Concurrent with the exhibition is a series of “walks” lead by Elastic City Founder and artist Todd Shalom. The performances will occur on July 15th and July 23rd, originating from the Varick Street location of Jack Geary Gallery and expanding into the Hudson Square geography.
