Gwi - Jeong Jo “Innerscape”
Able Fine Art NY Gallery
This event has ended.
Her digital art is both a mirror and a conscience to today’s Internet and Social Media lifestyles. Social Media gives countless avenues to reach out and touch but what about personal interaction. Being solitary in the digital world erupts into a person’s emotions. Gwi-Jeong Jo confronts these questions in her art. She pixelates, diffuses and distorts human faces while she abstracts people’s emotions. They are the screams of the lonely and fearful. They are the sweet sensations of joy and love. They are all the fingerprints of the human existence, which might be forgotten in the digital age. Her work through its scathing digital imagery brings our hidden emotions to the light of the real world.
