This event has ended.

Mighty Tanaka presents The Subliminal & Sublime featuring the art of Fedele Spadafora & Jeff Faerber.

Subliminal ideas are constantly being introduced to us through a variety of methods. Television, media and advertising are all guilty of producing schemes in order to infiltrate our brains and insert their message. Through a system of repetition and constant exposure, we are powerless to the jingles and catch phrases that surround us in daily life. As much as we may try to ignore it, the fact remains that major advertisers are tuned into our subconsciousness and exploiting it at will. Messages of morality, faith, consumption, fear and shame are just some of the ideas that we are being fed on a daily basis. Mighty Tanaka is pleased to bring you our next show, The Subliminal & Sublime, featuring the thought provoking artwork of Fedele Spadafora & Jeff Faerber. Together, they attempt to deconstruct the subversive nature of the subliminal and interpret it in a new light.

The Subliminal & Sublime explores the notion of memory and the means of individual interpretation. Utilizing the suggestive power of symbolism, Fedele Spadafora & Jeff Faerber delve into the inner most sanctum of the mind and withdraw an evolving idea of self. They present a juxtaposing idea of the subconscious, comparing and contrasting the subject from different angles while achieving a common goal.

Fedele Spadafora & Jeff Faerber present a complimentary and unique style of painting that invites the viewer to take a step closer. Using a variety of techniques, The Subliminal & Sublime digs deep to reinterpret our perception of memory and present an eclectic view of the world around us.
