Legendary photographer’s son with whom he learnt a lot, Victor particularly likes French classicism…
His timeless pictures let appear an obvious parentage and are different at the same time thanks to a real personal approach.
Indeed, beyond a perfect technique, Victor Demarchelier produces strong images which resolutely come from a contemporary style.
Often published in various editions of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, he is one of the youngest photographers supported by
Anna Wintour and his work is leading to become unavoidable.
He lives and works in New York where he grew up but maintains, of course, a special
relationship with France. Heir to its traditions, he managed to stray from those values in order to stand back and observe.
It’s in this perspective that Yann Weber offered him the opportunity to give his point of view about Paris and women who
live in… For a special issue that should contribute to the myth extension !
