This event has ended.

Thomas Hoepker's Heartland: An American Road Trip in 1963 was initiated in 1963 when he was on the staff of the German magazine Kristall as an assignment to show the lives of ordinary people in the United States, away from the big cities and tourist spots. The trip, lasting several months, involved driving with a colleague writer to the West Coast and back - a total of almost 16,650 miles. His photographs were later printed in Kristall covering twenty-five pages over five consecutive issues.

We are pleased to exhibit the entire Heartland series of 68 images for the first time in the United States, along with the just-published and signed eponymous monograph that serves as the catalog for this monumental exhibition.
