I think Tokyo is a beautiful city, especially around the Imperial Palace, "Kokyo."
People running around, taking pictures, walking through Tokyo, it's a kind city. It’s sophisticated, and it's gentle too. But at the same time, we expect an earthquake to hit Tokyo. All kinds of buildings will fall down. Hinako Sugiura, a writer who loves old Tokyo has said, “Tokyo, prepare to return to the wild." Still, I choose to live in Tokyo. I don’t mind living there. Because everything alive now must die someday, and it's not something that bothers me. I walk around Tokyo everyday.
The flowers may wilt, but they bloom as well. So I love to arrange flowers. For me, Japanese flower arrangement, “Ikebana,” allows flowers to come alive. We feel for flowers as we feel for all that lives, all that one day will be dead.
