Created exclusively at hours of darkness during moments of sleeplessness, Chase creates a subdued narrative portraying abstract temporal details in the interiors of New York dwellings. The guiding motif is the shadow, giving a sense of space and volume to each photograph. The artist muses on the intangible aspects of luminosity, encapsulating intricate details of particular outlines, which echo on walls, ceilings or pieces of fixture making her compositions rich in detail and texture.
