This event has ended.

“No matter where in the world one goes, the length of a day remains the same. Humans live all revolving around time. The clock, our shared measure of time, is the theme of this exhibition. Twelve planes compress onto one. Abridged to discrete periods and even compressed to sheets, I hope these works of time are enjoyed in their simplicity. These are somewhat strange, amusing moments painted to flow on without change.”

In the same vein as ambient music, Jyuri Nanako’s work begins by concentrating on a single motif. As the lines quiver into forms and string together, each piece grows into its pattern. Finished, it is a single leaf. It holds the horizon: water and sky flowing as one.
