Wolfgang Laib "Without Beginning and Without End"

In his seventh exhibition at the gallery, German artist Wolfgang Laib will create a ziggurat over 14 feet high from slabs of wax, reflecting his interest in pre-modern, non-western dwellings and spiritual spheres from ancient Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures. Scattered around the installation will be 104 brass ships, suggesting a journey to an alternative world and reinforcing the meditative attributes of the ziggurat.
