Fanny Allié “Artifacts”

On display in the space and viewable from the sidewalk, will be 16 boxes all containing works from Allié’s series “Artifacts” (2012/13).
This body of work is the product of the artist’s daily practice of scanning through the online news and reconfiguring the information and stories into a collection of objects, made with papier-mâché and gesso. She alludes to the often paradoxical nature of international and national news, as Allie says “News that caught my attention, being absurd and ironic, funny and tragic at the same time. Each papier-mâché object tells it’s own story.”
