Japanese illustrator, Mariko Tamura, was born in Osaka, Japan in 1985, and grew up in Yokohama. She has been interested in drawing, mainly using colored pencils and papers, since she was 5 years old.
After studying Theatre at Meiji University, she began her career as a game software planner at a venture company in Tokyo in 2008. In this role, she created successful games that targeting women and, while continuing to make art.
In 2011, she decided to concentrate on pursuing a career in art as an illustrator, and has started to distribute her works through media such as magazines, corporate websites, postcards etc..
Her art work shows her unique world “dreaming like a girl with a little poison”. You might find her message hidden in her works.
