Vandy Rattana “Bomb Ponds”
Asia Society and Museum
This event has ended.
Bomb Ponds, a special installation in the Asia Society Visitor Center, is a series of photographs and a one-channel video by Cambodian artist Vandy Rattana (b. 1980) that explores the U.S. bombing of Cambodia during the Vietnam War. The serenity of Vandy’s poignant images belies the violent history of the landscape. An accompanying video records the memories of ordinary Cambodians in their own words and is a moving testament to their resilience in the face of these unwarranted acts of violence undertaken by the U.S. government.
