"Sculpted Matter" Exhibition
Paul Kasmin Gallery (515 W 27th)
This event has ended.
Paul Kasmin Gallery presents Sculpted Matter.
Sculpted Matter will explore these artists' use of material in sculpture and its importance to the work itself. These materials ranging in finish, density, malleability, origination, and historical significance, comprise both abstract and figurative sculpture.
A portion of the exhibition will be dedicated to artists working in light, with work by Dan Flavin to more recent sculptures by Keith Sonnier and Ivan Navarro. Jill Magid will exhibit a red neon word sculpture from her series I Can Burn Your Face recently exhibited at the Tate, and previously unseen in the United States. A new neon sculpture by Deborah Kass entitled Enough Already will also be on view for the first time.
