Hiroko Maoka "Glitter"
Ouchi Gallery
This event has ended.
I create my artwork around the themes of love, nature, and light. I'm interested in how we are soothed, sometimes by nature's strength, sometimes by its silence, and on occasion by a clear shining voice that sings to the utmost heights and reaches the warm light.
My work is in pursuit of expressing this beauty of life through color. Typically my collages start with watercolor and acrylic daubed onto a canvas, then a certain amount ofwashi (Japanese paper) is added along with rhinestone and decorative leaves. Without fixating on its form, the work becomes more about a feeling of temperature, sound, and color.
When I leave this world, I want to leave behind as much beauty as possible in my work so that I can enrich people's hearts and lives.
Through my art, I hope to bring happiness to people's spirits and ensure that life's beauty does not go forgotten.
