The New Paintings exhibition will feature recent works of artist Kirk Moore at Synchronicity Space Fine Arts.
Moore's work draws on his surrounding environment, offering honest, objective renderings of the world. His beaches, marine life and cityscapes reflect his experiences and time spent in Manhattan and D.C., and his current home in Maine. Moore's personages may be his family, or simply people at the beach on a given afternoon. All subjects are given equal weight in their detail, depth and meaning on the canvas. Moore's use of color and texture breathe vivid life into still shots of daily living.
"In your best work, you become a conduit," said Moore. "You are a pathway to something greater that people relate to in a basic way."
What is universal to Moore's visual narratives is that broad audiences connect through their own experience and perspective. He depicts moments in time and faces in the crowd that are simultaneously ordinary yet uniquely beautiful. Moore has a gift for revealing what is special and captivating about our everyday lives.
"[Gallery director] John Amato once shared with me: you can't hide who you are when you paint," said Moore. "Perhaps, that more than anything, makes each painter's vision unique, the sum total of the person."
